Suited Deuces didn’t start as a business—it started as a couple of poker players who just couldn’t get enough of the game.

 

For years, Bo and Becky were playing poker three to six nights a week. We saw it all—the great games that kept us coming back, and the not-so-great experiences that made us think, there has to be a better way to do this.

 

Our love for poker goes back even further. Long before Suited Deuces existed, we were teaching our kids how to play around the kitchen table, hosting friendly home games with them and their friends. Poker for us was never just about the cards—it was about time together, learning something new, and having fun.

 

And then there’s Bo… Everyone who’s played with him knows his “lucky hand” is pocket 2s. Somehow, those little deuces always seem to win. It’s become a running joke: if Bo’s got twos, brace yourself. That’s how our league got its name. (Of course, we all know Becky is the one who keeps this league actually running smoothly!)

 

As we ran a few fundraising tournaments, we realized we didn’t just love playing—we loved running the game. And we knew we could do it better: more organized, more welcoming, and more fun for everyone at the table. That’s how Suited Deuces came to life.

 

Life was changing too. With four kids grown and mostly flown, four dogs who think they run the house, and a granddaughter we absolutely adore, we were stepping into our empty nest phase. Instead of slowing down, we wanted to get out, meet people, and build something meaningful.

 

And that’s the heart of Suited Deuces—the community. Over the years, poker has introduced us to so many incredible people, many of whom have become close friends. We’ve seen how strong this community is: how people show up for each other, support each other, and rally together. That’s a community we’re proud to be a part of.

 

Today, our goal is simple: run great games where everyone feels welcome. Whether you’ve never played a hand in your life or you’ve been playing for years, we’re passionate about teaching the game and helping people feel comfortable at the table.

 

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about poker.

 

It’s about the people, the laughter, and the community that keeps us all coming back.
